IWAI CHEMICALS was established in 1947 with the aim of producing and distributing high purity reagents. Maintaining for sixty years "integrity" as a cornerstone of our management philosophy has enabled us to make progress and achieve steady growth by earning our customers' trust.
The remarkable advances have been made in the field of life science, especially in areas such as molecular biology, genetic engineering and immunology. IWAI achieved its current position by taking appropriate actions in response to our anticipation of the need for specialized reagents in these research areas.
We have become an industry leader with a comprehensive product line by acting as agents for major domestic manufacturers and concluding distribution agreements with the dominant overseas reagent manufacturers.

Merchandise Control Center
We continued an effort to plan substantiality of the office system to supply the more quality services. Product Management Center was established at Tokyo's Kanda district in 1990 to contribute centralized product management as well as enhanced inventory management and shipping, and provides a pleasant and dynamic environment. We accomplished the thoroughgoing prompt delivery. Then we established the Tsukuba, Tama, Mishima, Yokohama and Kashiwa Sales Offices. In all over the Kanto district to perform the more close business activity for the user. Moreover, we introduced the large-scale communications equipment, significantly enhancing our IT infrastructure and also reorganized its sales structure, transferring head-office sales operations to 2nd Kanda Building. We located the Reagent Support Group, Equipment Support Group and International Group in 2005 for substantiality of the business support system. In addition, we also located the Sales Promotion Department and Drug Discovery Support Group to plan for more substantiality.
Kanda 2nd Building
On one hand, IWAI USA, Inc. was established in 2000 as part of our expansion into the International market. We have also acquired management rights in Chondrex, Inc., a manufacturer of arthritis-related reagents in the US, and have undertaken capital investment in B-Bridge International, Inc., which is a hub for information- gathering activities. As part of the support we offer the domestic venture companies, we have conducted commissioned research related to general genomic drug development. We have also become affiliated with Bio Matrix Research, Inc., a spin-off from Tokyo University of Science, whose main business activities include the development and manufacturing of research tools such as DNA chips.
